The Context

Our College faces significant obstacles in implementing best practices for student development. These hurdles include rising costs for upgrading infrastructure, the need to adhere to alumni and university guidelines, and managing unexpected faculty turnovers despite sufficient support, all of which hinder the effective implementation of optimal practices.

The Practice

Creating an eco-friendly campus has involved eliminating wasteful inefficiencies, utilizing conventional energy sources for daily power needs, ensuring proper waste disposal and procuring environmentally friendly supplies. The institute has also developed the time-bound strategies to implement green campus initiatives and integrate them into institutional planning and budgeting processes to foster the development of a clean and environmentally sustainable campus. The institute upholds a robust bond with its alumni, esteeming them as invaluable contributors to its growth trajectory. Festivities encompass a diverse array of activities, ranging from guest lectures and panel discussions to cultural showcases. By honoring these occasions, the institute champions diversity, equality, and social justice while nurturing a sense of belonging among its stakeholders. In addition to these initiatives, outreach programs serve as linchpins in preserving and enhancing educational quality of our college. At the individual level, students and faculty engage in community service endeavors, cultivating leadership acumen and a deeper understanding of societal needs. Under a value added course “Aanandam” our students go to nearby slums to distribute needful appliances, clothes and food. Departmental engagements entail research collaborations with local entities, fostering innovation and spurring economic development. At the institutional level, this College organizes community outreach initiatives such as health fairs and cultural spectacles, fortifying its bonds with the local populace.

One of the most lasting impressions etched in the mind of every student is the greenery all around the campus, tall trees, beautiful buildings, bushes and the beautiful flowers with a fountain at the entrance. The campus fosters an ambiance conducive to teaching and learning, enriching both students and faculty members.
